Jessica Gann began playing softball like many girls do, in her local rec ball league. Shortly, her she fell in love with the game and starting playing travel ball at the age of 8.
Growing up in her hometown of Coldspring & Shepherd, Texas, she accomplished numerous accolades associated with her high school and tournament softball career including:
~2015 District Defensive Player of the Year
~All-District (2012, 2014, 2015)
~Academic All-State (2015)
~Softball MVP (2014, 2015)
~2015 TGCA All-Star
~2014 TCS Nationals 9th Place
~2014 PGF Nationals 7th Place
~2013 Nationals Top 5 Finish
~2012 Nationals Top 10 Finish
~2011 Nationals Top 20 Finish
~3,000 strikeouts
~Led team to playoffs (2014-2015) including a third round appearance in 2014.
After completing high school, Coach Gann pursued her dream of competing at the collegiate softball level at both Stephen F. Austin and East Texas Baptist University, where she received the 2018 NFCA Scholar Athlete. Unfortunately, Coach Gann had to end her collegiate softball career early due to an injury.
With her experience, Coach Gann has focused her passion towards helping other girls reach their full potential in their softball careers. Not only is she the Head Coach of the Lady Patriots Gann Softball Team, but also an Assistant Softball Coach at Calvary Baptist Academy, who won the 2024 Louisiana Softball State Championships in their division . She also gives private softball hitting and pitching lessons with HGA Softball.
As Coach Gann continues pursuing her Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Certification in Mental Performance Coaching, it has also driven her to continue helping athletes not only develop their physical skills, but also develop the necessary mental skills to compete at the next level.
